If you’re talking about featured posts (small posts in 3 rows) before actual posts, just select featured categories in swt theme options.

Hi, open header.php and find line 64 – remove it. It should be div class description.
I cannot get the pictures to show when you click on a post. They show on the front page, but when you enter the article the picture is not there. If I post a picure in the article, two photos appear on the front page. How can I fix this?
This is the thing, featured images are only meant to be on front page. If you want images to appear on single page, you need to add them on classic way.
So it is not possible to add a featured image and also have an image inside the article, without two images appearing on the front page?
It is possible, but depends WHERE you want featured image to appear. If it doesnt matter, you can insert it once as featured – for frontpage, and on classic way to appear on single. But, if you want it to appear on single as featured, you need to copy image call from index.php to single.php. It is right bellow div class entry, named get_the_image. Grab whole that code and paste it in single.php.

Is there a way the slides can be linked to individual categories instead of to individual posts? I know this probably means moding the code for the slides but if its not too hard could you describe the simplest way to do it?? thanks, Lilly

To delete it from category only, open category.php and delete everything from div class inside to if have posts. From line 10 to 20.
Sorry, another question – on the slider – I have 6 slides selected but only 5 show – I viewwed source and the 6th li is there, but its not being displayed – is there an adjustment I need to make somewhere?? thanks, Lilly
You’re not wrong, but slider supports only 5 slides. You can play with slide.css in includes folder, and also with slide.php to adjust widths of images, to make it work with 6 images.

To have an images in the slider, you just add a custom field, type slide (lowercase) and leave link to the image. Or check howtoslide.png in themefolder/images/, visual is better
But, first of first, you should select sliding category via theme options (number of slides is set to 5 by default and cannot be changed).
Theme doesnt support dropdown menu, sorry. You might want to google that.

You dont need plugin or any code. Custom fields are hidden now by default in latest versions of wordpress. You need to enable them by clicking on screen options in top right corner, and custom fields will appear under posts.

No, you cant. Only for posts.

Yes, something like that. Image will be resized, so put what you think it suits best.
To change image size, open index.php and modify width and height of image.

Im not sure about images? They are not styled at all, and how you want to use this.
About wooden texture, it is possible, but little tricky if you dont know at least basics of html and css. On this theme you would have to add additional div around header, and then add header.gif to that image, and after that to change body in css, to replace image there (this is the best I can tell you)…

You cant then, font is not supporting all chars
You can remove cufon, and for that, please check faq section – font problems.

My question relates to the home page. Beneath the trios of recent posts there is the standard area where the latest posts are displayed. How can I stop these articles being listed in full? My site is http://www.vividghost.co.uk
If you scroll down you can see how my posts towards the bottom of the page are shown in full – I would like to truncate them.

There are problems with category names and sliders, you have to name your category with English letters only, and try using only one word.
If you dont want to do that, you can create additional category and assign all posts to both cats. Then select the new one in Featured posts, it will work.
How do I stop the feature picture from showing up in the body of the post? After the featured posts {there are 3 of them} the summary posts show up with 2 photos. One is the featured and the other is what was inserted into the body of the post. I don’t want the feature post showing up with the body photo – how do I get that to stop? Kent – can you share what you did? I am trying to get rid of the featured photo on the front page and just have the “inserted” photo in the body show.
Disabling featured image would be harder, but it can be done. Idea behind this system is to use featured image on frontpage, cause it has style and appropriate size. You just need to insert your “post image” little more bellow the post, and it will not be shown on frontpage.
Hi!! What should I do if I don´t want all the posts appear on the home page?? I mean…I have “Latest post from CATEGORY 1″ “Latest post from CATEGORY 2″ and under those, ALL the posts of the blog appear in the home and it makes a really long scroll down.
So the question is: how can I prevent that?? Maybe the latest three posts and a “Go to next page” button.

You decide what you want to do, you can set in reading settings number of posts on front page. Or disable latest posts, I don’t know
